Queer Loving – Worship with The Sanctuary Boston
Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, June 4th, in the Barn Room at First Parish Cambridge Unitarian Universalist for Worship with The Sanctuary Boston (facebook event link).We’re gathering for our LAST regular worship before summer and before Sanctuary takes the UU General Assembly in Providence, RI by storm on June 28th with our “Make Way for Love” Saturday Night Witness worship! As we’re gearing up for Providence, we’re also getting pumped for Boston PRIDE week!
Whatever our sexualities or gender identities, of course we all celebrate the LGBTQI community. AND at Sanctuary we can get real enough to recognize that the love that holds, connects and calls us IS Queer. That love is queer because it doesn’t heed boundaries of belief, identity, race, ability or class that society puts up around us. And the queer move of truly giving over to this love, wherever it calls, whatever the threat, is nothing short of prophetic.
Whether or not queer identity is something we identify with, queer loving can set any and all of us freer to be – you and me – the unique agents of love we were born to be. So let’s celebrate the ones who have risked so much to chart this prophetic path and let’s celebrate and explore how we can each nurture our own queer loving hearts – courageously, fiercely, beautifully, authentically, and fabulously!
Just imagine how much “way for love” we can create!!
Our next worship will be in its regularly scheduled 3rd Wednesday slot, but it will actually be a preview worship of the big worship we’ll be leading at General Assembly. The Sanctuary worship team really hopes everyone will come out to take part in this beautiful gathering and to support us as we gear up to share Sanctuary with thousands. On that note, bring as many friends as possible!! (That whole 5,000 worshipers is gonna be… different no matter what, but the more folks we have packed into First Church in Boston on June 18th, the better!).
