We gather together in worship twice a month on Wednesday evenings. Before the pandemic, we alternated meeting in person between First Church Boston and First Parish Cambridge. As of November 2021, we are meeting online on the 1st Wednesday of the month, and both online and in person at First Church Boston in the Back Bay on the 3rd Wednesdays of the month. Below is a list of when and where we’re meeting next.

Hey Matt, yeah let’s hop on the phone to chat! Sounds like a private training might be what works best. I anticipated offering private trainings as part of scaling up the UUA’s offerings of MHFA trainings, but admittedly haven’t done much thinking about it yet. Could we meet the week of the 29th? That would give me time to check in with my supervisor about what parameters, if any, I need to stick within. Basically anytime other than the 12-2p MT/ 2-4p ET block on Tues 30th, Weds 1st, Thurs 2nd would work for me.

    Hey Jennica,

Thanks so much for this. I do think this seems like a great fit. I'm glad that weekend is a likely possibility and I think it's great for you all to handle the registration.

Thanks also for the link to the description. That looks great and I'll draw the outreach content from there, although we'll take out the part about youth and being a congregation. Is that alright? I can send you the emails before we send them out, if you'd like to look them over.

I want to check with Augusta and Emily about our outreach plan, but I think it's very possible that we could fill all twenty spots.

You mentioned that we could have a deadline for Sanctuary folks, and then see how many spots are left, before opening it up. If we did that, would it work to have the deadline be January 5th, or would you want it to be sooner?

Would another possibility be to have Sanctuary as an organization commit to a flat rate of $800 for the training? If we did that would it work to set the high end of the sliding scale higher?

If that just doesn't work with your registration system, we'll figure something else out.

Let me know what you think. I'd also be happy to hop on the phone to chat more, if that'd be easier.

However we work out the logistics, I think this is a perfect fit for what we're hoping to do!

    Hey Matt,

January 29th 1-4pm and 30th 4-7pm (ET I assume?) tentatively works for me. Let me reach out to my support staff to see who is available on those days and check with my coordinator to make sure that works for her.

I’d prefer to handle the registration on our end so that it flows smoothly with the learning management system we are beholden to from the national council for mental wellbeing and since there will be some non Sanctuary participants if there is extra room.

The description of the program and the registration would be available on uua.org/ymhfa and would include payment info. That page will also have the link to the continuing education grant application. After registration closes (two weeks before the instructor led training) I could give you all the names of the folks who put Sanctuary down as their organization on the registration if that’s helpful.

Since there will likely be non Sanctuary participants as well I’d like to keep the sliding scale relative to the actual cost of the training ($0-$80) but maybe you could invite Sanctuary participants to contribute an additional donation directly to you?

After the training, learners are invited to join other UU mental health first aiders in a slack server to carry on the conversation.

When you mention Sanctuary staff time – no work would be required on your end other than making sure your people have the link to register. We’ll handle everything else.

Does that sound in line with what you had in mind? It might be that you had a different vision for collaboration. Talk soon, Jennica

    Hey Jennica,

This sounds so perfect! Our team just met and we want to confirm that we'd love to work with you on this.

We have some notes and questions...

    * We'd like to plan for the end of January, so we have as much outreach time as possible. Would it work to do January 29-30? We're imagining Saturday afternoon, like 1-4pm and then 4-7pm on Sunday?
    * Sanctuary also does a sliding scale for all our programs, so this is great. We always start at $0, hav
